Another Rage fan here. I think this was a game well on its way to being a classic. It controlled wonderfully, looked great, and had much better dungeons designs than similar games at the time (Elder Scrolls, Borderlands).

Two things:
1) I'm a father of a toddler myself, so I thought fair warning to let you know that while you should absolutely play The Last of Us, its emotional devastation I think is particularly aimed at fathers. The game's final moments are excellent for any player, but I think they resonate with dads just a little…
Ebrietas is pretty rough, but Logarious is the real motherfucker. That dude took me 20+ tries to take down, and numerous rounds of "well, what if I try it this way?"
I think it's still the best Zelda game released since its release, if that makes sense.
I remember being put off by it, because up until that point I was an avid grinder, leveling myself well past what was needed in games like the Final Fantasy series. Then here comes Vagrant Story and you can't - can't - level up until you beat a boss. If I recall you could strengthen some more incidental stats through…
I'd heard so much about the Cleric Beast and how hard he is going in, that I was surprised and relieved to beat him on my second try. I feel that Father Glockenspiel is when the game "gets real." Definitely one of the hardest.
It's incredibly silly. Even campy. I love this about it.
I did like PoP '08 a lot. I think it probably had the best pure platforming in the series, I liked the relationship between the prince and the lady (Elika? Did I just make that up?), and I prefer the art style to the Sands of Time trilogy. BUT, it also lacked so much of what I liked about the prior 3D games: the…
It was always that high five at the end that got to me. There's was just something so sweet about it.
The better equipment is vital, of course, but don't downplay the real secret to success: how much better you've become as a player.
Yeah, that's right on. Paarl was a sonovabitch.
That would be great. FFXII is that rare FF where my enjoyment of the gameplay outpaces my investment in the world and story. Normally it is the narrative and world-building that brings me to the yard. I don't care much for XII's story at all, but I found it really fun to play.
Tight, 3rd person character action is becoming a hole in my heart. I'd kill for another really strong Prince of Persia on current gen. Something more like Sands of Time, not PoP '08.
There's a moment on the road from Besaid where you're walking beneath some ruins and the "camera" swings around to follow the character that looks just gorgeous. I remember when I saw that the first time I had to go find someone to show it to. "Look, look at these graphics!"
I found Rom a good deal easier than her reputation, but she was still my favorite boss fight. The setting, music and pacing are just so surreal and creepy. Like nothing else in the game.
I completed Bloodborne this past weekend and have been digging into NG+ there. I've had some fun tromping through the early chalice dungeons, for which I am massively overpowered, but it's kind of hollow at the same time.

You're playing the remaster, I assume? I'm looking forward to playing the newest remaster for PS4, both X and X-2. I've played X maybe 3 times, so it won't feel brand new though it's been a long while. Haven't played X-2 since its release, so I'm curious to see what I remember about it all these years later.
Really great game. Now that I think about it I'm not sure I finished it. I got very far, I know, but I think I may need to go back in. Of course at this point I'll be completely lost.
Hackers. Definitely Hackers.
