Binged on Bandcamp all week, with a little help from the metal blogosphere, and came out with some real winners. These aren't all new, but they're new to me (and some of them are new):

How about a thread devoted to Heavy Metal Music? Other types of metal need not apply.
I remember watching the very first episode of Top Chef thinking that not being able to taste the food sapped some of the fun from the whole idea. Watching Project Runway, for example, I may not be in the room, but I could at least see what the judges saw and make up my own mind.
The fakeout is always lame, but this one was delivered miserably. I knew exactly where he was going: "Jessie, take off your apron and say goodbye … to Bri, because you're safe!"
Love Lionheart. That was the first time I watched a movie and thought, "This is a video game." The progression from fight to fight reminded my young self so much of Street Fighter II.
We would watch Bloodsport during lunch at Taekwondo summer camp. This camp was for 4-12 year olds. It was pretty great.
100 beers on tap sounds great, especially if they devote a good chunk to local and rotating brews. I sometimes frustrate my drinking friends, because I really only like to drink draft while I'm out. So, the restaurant could have 300 different beers in the bottle, if they only have 5 taps, and two of them are domestic,…
I was at an Asian supermarket having trouble finding what I was looking for. And then another white dude entered the aisle and also started having trouble finding something. So it was just two white dudes at the Asian supermarket, staring at an endless selection of Japanese sauces and not finding shit.
Enjoyed the Ballast Point IPA at dinner last week. Not really much an IPA guy, but I wanted something with some kick and it was the only draft on the menu that had any at all. Pleasantly bitter, but didn't taste like a tree.
In addition to the standard pregnancy diet restrictions, Mrs. Snape+1 also has gestational diabetes, and the two combined leave her able to eat practically nothing. Which kinda sucks for a hungry pregnant lady.
Let us know how long it lasts. The few times I've had what I thought were real bad hangovers I promised myself to lay off awhile … and each time lasted about 5 days.
My father was gifted a really nice bottle of bourbon from a casino, and I tried to finagle it from him since I know he and my mother will never, ever drink it. But my attempts failed, and there it sits in the cupboard, two years later, unopened.
Extol, Extol - the unqualified highlight of their career, IMO, and a hell of a comeback record.
Hey, I've heard of all those bands. Positively mainstream, UMD.

Hey @avclub-d542a3419c3ad57206a96bcc86155ebc:disqus, what spot? Another Dallasite (actually an Allen-ite but whatever) wants to know.
Oh sure, that's a great one. Just didn't think of it at the time. I bet there's plenty more I've seen/heard/played that I'm not remembering.
This is stepping a little outside the show, but I have to say that I'm an absolute bitch for this basic narrative. The decaying machine that continues to operate well past the point of use because it doesn't know any better is something that appeals to me every time I encounter it.
Any Chrono Trigger fans on this board? The MOCO Factory gave me strong vibes of the 2300 A.D. robot factory. The nostalgia made me all tingly.
Long have I pined for an American version of QI, all the while being fully aware of the fact that it would probably be terrible.
