No time to stay and play today, so I figured I'd just answer everything now:

Cracks me up, too, and last night's was particularly good.

True story: I tried to think of the theme song to Malcolm in the Middle just now, and I thought I had it. Then I realized it was the theme song from The Norm Show. Which is also good fun.

In this one does he preface every punchline with emphatic assurances as to its authenticity?

Fans of post-metal/rock have a better friend in the new Mouth of the Architect record, I think. Conveniently, it also releases today.

Gotta be careful with that, though. If you only scream the "lyric that needs to be accented," people will start calling you metalcore.

It's very different, I think. If you like the Uncharted series then this will scratch that same itch, except in a lot of ways it's a more interesting game. The areas are more explorable, Lara learns new abilities throughout the campaign, stealth and hand-to-hand combat work much better.

I'm digging it. Crushing and catchy all the way through, if not particularly surprising (TBDM are almost frustratingly consistent). Based on my few listens, I feel that Trevor is putting more emphasis on the deep side of his two-range vocal attack, which I like a lot. I think their previous record, Ritual, is better

Really looking forward to playing it, but Gamefly will provide when Gamefly provides. I'm behind anyway. Just now working on Tomb Raider, which I find to be excellent.

I almost always say "howdy." And it's annoying when people people give me shit about it for being some Texas thing. Which I mean it is, but I'm not saying it ironically. It's what I've always said.

The wife and I are also looking into getting "suburban" chickens, although it's the final part of a major backyard project, so it probably won't be until next year and may not happen at all.

Lots of maybes on the horizon for me and (maybe) Mrs. Snape:

My wife really wanted to go to this show, but it was sold out when we found out about it.

Gettin' jazzed for new Mouth of the Architect and Extol records hitting next week. I've really enjoyed everything I've heard from both.

That show is this Friday in my neck of the woods, but not sure if I'm going yet. The one time I've seen Deafheaven - before I was familiar with their music - still ranks as one of the top metal shows I've seen. But I'm just not sure the timing is gonna work out for me this time.

Yes, this will be the moment the A.V. Club turns against me.

Jennifer Lawrence is the current squeeze.

Much agreed that context really matters. I didn't think much of anything about Carly until I saw her do the acoustic version of that song with Jimmy Fallon. Adorable … and fappable.

Haven't had problems or concerns with sickness, but I have a rather manic fear of something happening to my glasses, without which I am blind and for which I have no backup.

Same here with Red Lobster being the "special occasion" restaurant when I was a kid.
