I tried that same Lagunitas brew last night. It was alright for me. A little hoppy for my taste. It had that piney, tree thing going on.

I hated roller coasters as a kid. Not fear; I just hate the feel of falling. So of course I'd get shit for it as a kid.

About a year ago Mrs. Snape called me in from another room with an eerily calm, "Hey, come take care of this spider." My senses tempered by her nonchalance, I was quite alarmed when I entered the room and saw, perched on the backdoor window, a spider roughly the size of GOD.

One of the year's best, for sure. Been jamming it heavily for the past couple weeks.

Love Sunbather. I believe with this album that Deafheaven have finally become the band they're meant to be. Utterly transcendent music.

Two things:

Been on near constant rotation for the past 2 weeks. Not a weak point in the album, and both "Kalopsia" and "I Appear Missing" are especially excellent for me. This is fast becoming my favorite QOTSA album.

There's so much probably great anime I haven't seen, that I always feel a little guilty when all I want to do is go back and rewatch one I've already seen. Code Geass definitely fits that bill, especially since it's two seasons. Ugh, even more time "wasted."

That's one of those "once a year" movies with me. I've seen it at least 10 times. Randomly though, not related to any particular time of year.

Mrs. Snape recently started listening to Caravan Palace. Not my bag, but always cool to be introduced to new styles.

Limbo is awesome, though Braid still owns my heart in the indie puzzle-platformer genre.

I would go Mastodon overall, though Blue Record by Baroness would probably be my favorite album that any of them has released. Honestly, I'm not in love with any of the bands' latest work. The Hunter, Yellow & Green and Ultraviolet are all kinda blah to me.

It's never too late for beer!

Username: I really don't know myself.

"When I Lost my Best", "Nothing's Funny" and "Crossburner" are my favorites, but the whole record is pretty killer. I was surprised by the lack of a review.

The QOTSA videos are really something. Each one is cool on its own, and the way they add makes each piece feel like something more.

While it's hardly the only familiar storyline in Defiance - or any genre fiction for that matter - there's just something about the "old war buddy / partner / friend from college who turns out to be a bad guy" plot that I just find so tiresome. It irks in ways that other genre staples don't. I mean, as soon as you see

Obviously new The Dillinger Escape Plan is what I'm all about this week. As usual, the only thing consistent about DEP is excellence.

I don't know if it was just my mood that day, but I found Deafheaven enthralling live. Even after years and years of going to metal shows, I'd put Deafheaven's supporting performance when they toured with Russian Circles in my top 5, maybe top 3, concert experiences.
