“The big issue I see is that even with the launch of new consoles next year - game consoles are their lowest margin item (I think it’s about 8% gross profit, compared to 40%-50% for a used game).”

@Luke Plunkett

It’s not even that. It’s the core of what clickbait is; for example:

How often do you see/hear the term “SJW” referenced WITHOUT clear derogatory intent? Oh, wait, that’s literally never, it doesn’t happen. The term was literally coined for the purpose of bashing activists online, that is it’s original purpose, you can’t claim that your knowledge of this vry specific popular

At the end of the day, entertainment is subjective. Someone can argue for or against anything’s “classic” status. Personally, I enjoyed the way the first half felt like it could be an actual news broadcast, and the film’s story was interesting in that it’s main character frankly wasn’t your stereotypical”good” guy. He

Right. Because you get readers by “waiting” as long as it takes for someone who probably doesn’t want to admit to a problem they haven’t solved yet to respond to you, admitting to the problem they haven’t solved yet.

This isn’t a fancy version of Monopoly, this is Skyrim on your tabletop. There's a terrifying amount of content, baked into a meat campaign that takes hundreds of hours to finish. Sure there are alternative ways that your character inventory/level/progression, and your impacts on the world by your decisions and

The thing that jumps out to me the most in this is that the worker stated that she took down and printed the order, but that she did not write this -when did we forget the concept of “innocent until proven guilty”?

Exactly how old do you think that movie is?

I have no respect for those who engage in victim shaming. On the other hand, I have no respect for those who immediately condemn someone over accusations made with no evidence to back them up.

“Announcing ‘Earthbound 0 + 1 + 1'. Exclusively for the Nintendo DSi. Coming only shortly after the Virtual Boy Mini.”

Here’s the thing -the one being sold as a reproduction on eBay and other online storefronts is almost certainly NOT the complete official game included with the SNES Classic, even if they claim that it is.

I’m constantly torn with regard to emulators. Here in the U.S. it’s legal to emulate the games as long as you legally own them (though between DMCA changes and court precedent cases over the years, I cannot say that this is still accurate with 100% certainty anymore).

If by “slick” you mean “an ugly as hell abomination that should have been thrown into the fires of mount doom”, then yes. Anything else, and you should maybe not reproduce.

And to be clear, that wasn’t intended as a mean spirited jab -I’ve come across a good number of your articles here, and they’re typically interesting well written stuff. Just having fun there.

“And I don’t own an actual PC, just a psuedo-fancy paperweight with a pretty display and no disc drive.”

Not sure why so many Switch owners show a need to declare their apparent disinterest in anything released elsewhere until it’s on Switch. It’s not that the sense is anything new for anyone in any of the big console camps, it’s that a handful of self entitled users seem to think that everyone is suddenly going to care

It was a hypothesis, and given the climate of twitch streaming, it was a more than reasonable hypothesis. I don’t need to be punched in the gut in order to speculate the specific reasons why I wouldn’t like it. There are reasonable and intelligent possibilities that can be suggested without first hand experience.

I agree that there is a tendency to pander towards the general heterosexual male audience in gaming (board games, video games, etc), but I also feel that at a high level perspective its getting SLOWLY better. The key phrase here is slowly.

Now that I’ve managed to sidestep another steaming pile of garbage (thank you for that, Mr. Plunkett) I can’t help but wonder... When will we get Total Warhammer 40,000? It’s the game Warhammer 40,000 needs, even if it isn’t the game we all deserve. Don’t get me wrong: the Dawn of War franchise has had its moments,
