It’s really easy. There are websites (amzreviewtrader or amzonereviews) that you can sign up for. Or you can search on Facebook for groups to join (search Amazon free discount). It’s mainly Chinese companies selling the generic stuff under their company name. I’ve gotten headphones, battery packs, an action camera,…

I’m with the OP, I’ll at least glance at the 1 stars - I look for common themes, mainly, amongst the bad stuff.

Yeah - I look at the negatives to see if there are legit defect concerns or if people are just being bitchy about less important stuff (colors, etc.)

I only look at the negative reviews anyway so I can figure out what part is going to break first or if the item will be total shit. Positive reviews just get in the way. Surely I’m not the only person who does this?

I did this for about a year. I got free or heavily discounted items to write reviews. I was completely honest in my reviews and quite frankly gave more 1-3 star ratings than 4-5.

This is nice and all, but how about they put a stop to vendors selling multiple versions of the same item under the same listing.
