I don’t think so. Common lore would have those as silver pieces, not shekels, unless they’re reading the Hebrew (doubtful). I’ve never seen that term in any English edition of the Bible, and I’m studied the Bible as an undergrad and grad student. I could be wrong, but I haven’t experienced shekels as a common term.
