Imagine if Tesla had spent all the money that went towards the Cybertruck on something that wasn’t dumb as fuck.  They could have made a damn impressive vehicle.

I’m about to venture into this rat’s nest. I’ve been driving Teslas for several years now (Chevy Bolts before that.) I’ve loved the reliability and exclusivity of the Supercharger network after using the mishmosh of random CCS chargers with the Bolts. Now I am about to sell one of the Teslas and buy a F-150 Lightning…

I do not guide my posts by what is financially beneficial but what I believe is interesting or important or entertaining to the public.

The beginning of the end came when Elon Musk made that stupid flame thrower and no one at Tesla had the sack to tell him:

1) This is an idiotic thing to make, I don’t care who you are.
2) It’s not even a decent flame thrower... more like the “Nerf” version of a flame thrower.

Rivian seems to have nailed the market, in contrast. If Tesla had come out with something similar earlier, they would’ve done well, and wiped out a strong competitor at the same time.

To be fair, the market doesn’t seem all that excited about the actual electric F-150 either.

All of the weird, whacko fringe stuff I used to hear about as a teenager have basically all been mainstreamed by a bunch of culture warriors eager to hit low-information people with new things to be outraged about.
