Any improvements in performance for anyone playing the Beta? I have a pretty top-of-the-line-circa 2019 laptop (RTX 2070) which hasn’t had issues running most things sub 60fps on solid settings.

As someone who whaled early and hard and had to force myself to stop playing lest I whale further, you got out at the correct price.

It’s curious because while I love the concept, the art style is what’s putting me off and keeping me from grabbing it - books and covers and all that, yet also each to their own, I suppose.

Sounds a lot like the last game in the series - there was actually an incredible game buried in there, but my god you had to dig. As I recall mods were the only thing that made it remotely playable with the state it was in. I loved it, though - I wonder if this one will be similar (if it ever comes out, that is).

Fair enough - I imagine they’ll edit the phrase soon, given the attention.

I dunno man, “blood” and “honor” are two pretttttty common words in video games, and putting them together seems like something that’s probably happened without any devious intentions more than a few times across the history of gaming. The fact that you’ve got to translate it from German first, too... ehh.

Oof - those faces are terrifying. Do not like. Hayao probably disappointed by his son yet again with this one, poor little dude.

The barred doors etc really are the worst. I’ve spent up to an hour on a few of those only to finally relent, look it up online, and be like - SERIOUSLY, IT WAS RIGHT THERE?! Ugh.

I feel this heavily, and I certainly have open-world fatigue - I have for years, in fact. At this point I just want to finish the main damn game, and realizing I’m still 100 power level and like 5 regions at 80+ hours is exhausting. I loved AC: Odyssey but I took two huge breaks between finishing it, finally powering

Even veering close to speaking ill will unleash large swarms of Musk-addicted internet bees.

Most of those don’t even have firm release dates, or they’re far toward the end of the year. It just seems like there would be more large exclusives around launch typically.

Ha - I had FO76 on PC (which played terribly even on a good computer, and multiplayer was sus with suspected hackers). I tried to get into it multiple times but didn’t have any friends who played. Ended up getting it on PS4 on the Christmas sale and buying a copy for my friend to play with me, who’s a big Fallout fan

I was lucky enough to find a PS5 on Amazon, and though I’m loving the system and enjoying diving into countless PS4 games I missed, it does feel a little strange that there aren’t all that many large exclusives (or even non-exclusives) on the release horizon. Granted COVID, and it’s been so long since the PS4 release

I’ve been noticing this as well in Portland - it’s quite strange.

Shame they’re not traded on the NYSE - talk about a sell-the-news event.

I seem to be in the vast minority, but so far Valhalla has been a massive disappointment compared to Odyssey.

It’s pretty fun despite the weak story, general wonkiness, and repetitive environments, but right now I’m holding off on playing it. Currently there’s a bug that randomly doesn’t give you skill points on leveling up. I’ve missed 3 or 4 so far - enough to keep me from wanting to play till they fix it, as not getting

This is super important to note. Still cannot believe this was made by one person.

It’s still bizarre to me that major online retailers like Amazon had stock once, for a couple of minutes, and haven’t had any since. COVID sees the obvious understandable answer for supply issues, but I just have to wonder how many people will actually even have access to the new consoles at launch.

Like... free meals and desserts?
