That in itself is not problematic.

There’s about 150+ people in the last 25 years that would probably disagree with you. If they weren’t dead.

Ever been up above 18,000 feet?

Anyone except the approximately 65 people who died in the last 5 calendar years.

Sounds exactly like “Look, I’m not racist, but...” mountaineer-version to me. Gatekeeping the mountaineering feats too now? Even if you are a professional climber who waltzed up and down K2 for an evening jog, I would still say it’s bad form to belittle the value of an Everest climb.

Get a life. For crying out loud, trump is a huge douchebag and one of the best targets for jokes and insults we’ve ever had as president. I know it, you know it, and vegetable lasagne knows it. Fuck off.

What?

Anyone with enough money, can pay to climb Everest

The only drawback to paying for summiting Everest is having your brain begin to bleed, or falling off.

And now it is only a 1% fatality rate, I moved a decimal point. So it has gotten safer and easier, but still not as safe or easy as renting Everest.

Dammit, math is hard. 100 out of 10,000 is a 1% mortality rate.

Left is today, right is 2011.

:whispers: I think you may have missed the joke.

The Art of the Pitch

ha!

We asked for a Hillary landslide in 2016, we got a completely different one in 2017. Sad!

That is an actual thing on Everest. It’s located on the other side in communist China. The only thing is, it’s overcrowded with bros who just took up mountaineering a few months ago and now act like they know everything there is to know about mountain climbing.

This is pretty upsetting, actually. But it’s also kind of interesting to see the things we consider most stable change visibly in our lifetime. No one will ever again make the same ascent that Hillary did. The poeple who have done it will forever hold that honor. On a much smaller scale, this also happened recently to

Honestly, that it will never be the same is actually part of what makes it cool.

It’s been replaced by the new Trump Step. MAKE EVEREST GREAT AGAIN!

The Bernie Step would have still been there.
