That is amazing. I’m honestly tearing up a little. If everyone could meet a person like that along the way of life, there just could be hope for society yet.

The theories started almost immediate - I remember them within the week. Most of these idiots believed the planes crashed into the buildings, but that they couldn’t have done that much damage without additional explosives planted in the building. By the government, of course, who were possibly working with terrorists…
I doubt many of them are so devout that they believe denying birth control is what god wants, and it’s their duty to see it through. It’s just an excuse. For what, fuck if I know. Why do they care? Why would they think god cares?
No. You should use that vacation time to look for other employment. Well, maybe the Satan Convention - that would be pretty interesting.
Mostly maybe, but not most straight men. Most don’t really seem to care one way or the other, which is also problematic. Given that plenty of women are opposed to contraceptives, abortion, etc, it feels odd to assume that gay men would automatically align with women on these issues, since women can’t even seem to…
There are a few nuns that work with some of our (college) students - and freely distribute birth control and reminders of how to protect themselves and stay safe. I’m the first to admit there are plenty of problems with organized religion, but some nuns really are badasses. They’ve lost most (maybe all, at this point)…
I’m confused. Only straight men should stay out of the conversation on “uterine affairs”? Why would any other group of men have a more enlightened view on this?
Anyone could miss Canada, all tucked away down there...
And that’s fine. It shouldn’t be free of criticism. But that thoughtful comment is not made stronger by the preface of “faith is bullshit”. And depending on your definition of faith, no one is free from it entirely. I don’t believe in God, but I have faith that I’ll get up in the morning, that gravity will continue to…
But women don’t have their own money and are busy with housework, so it’s pointless to cater to us. A Nancy Drew movie could work, as long as Nancy is saved from certain tragedy by a man. Or if Nancy Drew is replaced by a man. Or if it’s made by Lifetime, so we could watch it at home while doing our hair.
Right, we have Charlie’s Angels, and you want yet another movie that features women not being rescued by men? Greedy!
I’ll assume the drivers have to be insured. College graduates and people that have no criminal record are cheaper to insure. And you really can’t understand why the driving record would be valuable here?
I missed the slobber! Good catch.
I love the matching track suits, too. So good.
Stop. It’s entirely possible to be an atheist and not be an asshole. Stop giving all of us a bad reputation.
I’m long out of high school, so I’m not up to date on the rules. But out of curiosity, why would you really take issue with them? Should a private school really have no say in how students dress for class or formal functions?
They can dictate what you wear. It doesn’t mean they should, at least with cases like this. Set all the rules you want on hemlines and midriffs - but making a rule like this, that was clearly targeted at this particular girl, just days before the prom is unforgivable.
She does look fantastic, and it’s deplorable she was asked to leave because of some bullshit last minute rule. This should be fought loudly and never allowed to happen again, even if it is a private school.
I tend to agree that it’s over the top, and I’m guessing many witnesses will misinterpret it entirely. Before I read the explanation, I thought it was a message along the lines of “look at yourselves first” or “vote for Trump and we’ll blind you with these giant mirrors” or something. I wouldn’t necessarily criticize…
How is this at the expense of women, though? Most of your argument seems to be that a white male is telling women to pose naked... but he isn’t. No one is being told to do this. Any women in the image would be willing participants, maybe some that really do feel empowered by it.
