I grew up in such a neighborhood, and yes, we got away with everything!

What sucks is that this disproportionately affects lower income neighborhoods, where your neighbors closer to you. In the suburbs there is more breathing space, and probably fewer complaints.

My boss did this to our VP of Operations. They had the same first name and told the guy he had to go by his middle name.

Especially considering that when men start working in female dominated fields the titles change as well. Stewardess/Flight Attendant, for instance.
