Do you work in an "at will" state? Because where I am, in an at will state, reneging on an agreement of available hours is very very common and you do not have protection against it. It's a shitty thing to do to the employee, but totally legal and somewhat expected.

What bothers me about this is that there is no mention of the treatment of other employees who were granted specific schedules to accommodate their religious practices.
