They use a modified version of this. Except everyone sits on pit road waiting for someone else to lead the draft. Then everyone goes right at the end.
Ya, for qualifying where speed is solely what you want. But not during the race itself. Someone might drop back a bit and just cruise, but when the track is known for big crashes not many drivers will choose to risk that.
Wouldn't they pretty much choose the same anyway? Fastest chooses first, second fastest second, etc?
Who now owns the track and maintains it? It isn't just left to rot, grass is mowed, etc.
Not much contact if any, Thompson even said "I can't stress enough how clean he drove, and there's probably two drivers in this championship that will race as clean as that, and it was good to see."

Pro Racing teams also put in blood, sweat, and tears. And many times the purse is not enough to make a difference.

Several cars had additional lifts attached to the bottom of the hydraulic jacks to raise the car higher.

He stops pumping them, so it may be he was just pumping them up to fight knockback, but didn't push to the point to realize they were gone. I would be interested to read what he had to say about the onboard.
Same for me, I never thought about it until the return flight when they pulled it. Then it was just kinda funny I made it the first trip with it.
I made it to my destination with my sunscreen, busted on my return flight.
I drive an ST and I prefer RWD.
