Hahaha. Because murdering your pedophile dad is legal now, I guess. I've got to find this list!

Hahaha… talk about misunderstanding the song. Yes, they call out Kennedy's cult of personality along with Ghandi and Mussolini, but when they say "only you can set you free," it's a huge stretch to take that to mean, you know, Living Colour is advocating lowering taxes on the rich and putting prayer back in schools. I…
Hey, they both solo through a Cult of Personality. Hey oh!
It's weird to see someone complaining about the Punisher's backstory. While I agree that dead family members are a terrible cliche in superhero stories, this is a case where there's no alternative. Dead family members are as crucial to motivating the Punisher as they are to motivating Batman. The series couldn't…
Automobile fight out in the Australian Outback.
Yeah, I'm ok with it not being groundbreaking stuff because, hell, why have the Punisher in this season at all if you're not going to have them talk through their differences? They're foils, for goodness sake. That contrast is the whole reason they work.
Nailed it.
Has anyone mentioned the Pikmin, yet? Those little dudes are thriving on a post-apocalyptic Earth.
Laid around with a cold. The only culture I've been apart of is one from a Petri dish. zing!
I definitely prefer the squid ending and agree that the things you've pointed out make it a more convincing "solution" to the Cold War problem. But I still think it's a bridge too far to say people who like the Manhattan ending in the movie just completely misunderstand the whole point. It really just comes down to…
I've never understood this argument. The logical extension of being a hero is… killing a bajillion people and lying to the world about it. How is that the logical extension of being a hero?
That game was actually my introduction to Lord of the Rings, to such a degree that when I first read the books, I had to fight not to see the entire adventure as 8-bit sprites in my head.
I really appreciate the way you put that. Well done.
You guys kind of circled around it when talking about the booklets, but I really liked the custom-designed artwork you found in the booklets. Especially with alt-rock records, where you often had a college art student "anything goes" mentality, the artwork really informed what you were hearing.
In my dreams, tonight!
It's a trailer. How can you already proclaim that this movie doesn't have heart?
Glad to know I get a B- before writing the paper.
The AV Club turned me on to Andy's failed series "Andy Barker P.I.". If you like Andy, give it a shot. He's actually really good in it and the series should have found an audience.
It's a leftover from the monoculture days, when there were only a handful of late night shows and they were the main place you could consistently see edgy comedy. We care about them now mostly because we cared about them then.
I think he lets himself do those jokes because of the self-deprecation at their core. He's supposed to be the butt of those jokes, as an ugly, delusional dork who doesn't have a chance with the woman he's talking to. So he probably sees it as an ok thing to do because he's asking the audience to take sides with the…
