Freakin' Happy New Year!

Not yet. It's still 2015.

For me, 2016 is going to be The Year of McDuck. My resolution is to become as financially literate as possible, this year. Also: Read as many Carl Barks Uncle Scrooge comics as I can afford with my newfound financial literacy.

Seriously though, where the heck did this perception arise that you can legally use someone else's intellectual property any way you want so long as you don't make money off it? That's never been true. Ever. The point of those laws is to protect a creator from having to compete with their own creation.

Kind of on a whim I just signed up for Marvel Unlimited. Haven't read comic books with any regularity since the days of hologram covers. Not really sure if I'm going to like it or not, but felt I might have some fun with it for a few months and then cancel when I've had my fill.

They could marathon the Craig movies, though. We did that before Spectre and it was a lot of fun.

One thing I don't get about the AV Club is their enthusiasm for latter day SNL. Sometimes I wonder if they're in the pocket of Big Michaels.
