"Nerdy" is probably the last word I'd have used for Gwen. She always seemed like one of the rich, cool kids, to me.

Truth is I thought it mattered. I thought that music mattered. But does it? Bollocks! Not compared to how people matter…
Yeah, it was very odd to read everything being filtered through Stefani's solo career in this article. I mean, they were legitimately a band the same way Blondie were legitimately a band. Sure, the singer was gorgeous and out front, but it's not like they were ever just her backing band. Hell, they devoted a whole…
It's really not. But I still like it.
Disagree. I was a junior in high school back then, and while I didn't like No Doubt, there was no denying they were everywhere.
Pretty hard not to say Paul McCartney. Though, you know, Paul McCartney starting like 50 years ago, naturally.
So here's where I struggled getting on board with Tragic Kingdom. In 1995, when this thing hit like a bomb, I think it would be fair to say that the biggest example of a badass rock chick was probably Courtney Love. There are even surface-level similarities with Gwen Stefani, with the bleach blonde hair and bright red…
Oh man. Kristen Schall would make an amazing Squirrel Girl.
Chief!
I know this is the AV Club, but attacking a guy's dick size when he's asking a question politely doesn't exactly make you look reasonable.
Yeah, Sound Exchange was the ultimate Austin record store, more so even than Waterloo. Did you ever go to Inner Sanctum? My understanding is that it was past its prime by the time I went there, but it was the record store equivalent of a funky dive bar. Then all the other stores, like Technophilia and whatnot. It was…
So looks like all those guys who "read it just for the articles" are going to have to put their money where their mouth is.
I shopped at the Tower on the Drag in Austin quite a bit as a kid in the 90s. It was the acceptable corporate record store, on a street full of cooler mom & pops. I was pretty sad when it closed, though. Because if Tower couldn't make it, no one could. All of 'em are gone now.
It's not quite YA, but I'd sure love to see a big budget movie adaptation of Sideways Stories From Wayside School.
Also, we should recall that the original story broke pre-social media. It was one of those stories that simply needed the spotlight refocused on it and, for whatever reason, that didn't happen until Burress.
This is basically it. It's just a kid's fantasy of teen life packed into a sitcom-style comic pitched at 8 year olds. If someone is trying to work out where the appeal is then they're clearly too old for it to really work.
Well, whoever they are, I certainly don't want to talk to them about anything, including the legacy of the Cosby Show.
IS… YSOB. ID. E, MF. DYSI?
Can't we take for granted that most people, including Theo here, recognize that the greatest tragedy is what happened to Cosby's victims? I mean, most people are not monsters who think TV is more important than people. We all understand that right? We don't have to fight with each other about it every time someone…
He's kept the Leonard Part 6 legacy about the same.
