See, that's an album where I've always been turned off by the cover. It's the inverse of this question, for me.

Too bad.

I was entranced by both colors of "Al Grebnik and the Boys Play and Sing More and More Czech Polkas and Waltzes".

Happened to me. Would have left it on the shelf had I realized it was ELP. Thought I'd stumbled onto some Outsider stuff.

A View To A Fuck

Chief?

For me it's Neil Young. I've tried a few times to listen to his big records and they just confound me. This will sound mean, but it's just my point of view: He can't write, can't sing, can't play and everything interesting is supplied by collaborators. Really, what's the deal with that guy?

I get thinking the Beatles are overrated - people talk about them like they were Demi-gods. But wanting to blow your brains out? That's a reaction to something other than the music.

Yeah. Everyone wants to see that groovy thing.

Stewart we agree about. Bob Seger was a legit working class guy who busted his ass for years before getting a break (at least according to Lester Bangs). Whether he's my thing or not he gets a pass for that.

Say what you want about Green Day…

I was 4 years old when Ebony and Ivory came out and I've never been able to understand the hatred it gets from some corners. Maybe it's patronizing from an adult perspective, but to me it works as a kid's song about racial cooperation.

The headline is totally misleading. The discussion is not a takedown of Tug of War. It's much more balanced than the headline writer suggests.

Also: Wings Over America is dope as hell.

You gotta give the A.V. writers HELLLLLLLLLLL!

I like the first half of that album quite a lot.

Yeah, I'm a huge Beatles fan and even I'd never heard Ram all the way through until 7 or 8 years ago. Floored me. If that came out today as some indie band's new record, we'd all be talking about how they were the next Dawes.

He does play quite a few tracks from the 90s and 00s, though. He's been rocking stuff like Flaming Pie, Calico Skies and whatnot for awhile now.

I'd probably go:
