Yeah, I've tried to recommend it and I'm surprised how uninterested my comic-reading friends were in it. It's a strange thing, because I think they see it as essentially for children in a way that they don't see their stories of superheroes in colorful costumes punching badguys as essentially for children.

Surely part of the remit is to introduce people to the current comics landscape, hence why so many were recent. I find that way more helpful, personally, than yet another recommendation to go read Alan Moore's Swamp Thing or Jack Kirby's whatever.
