Yeah, I always thought Dancehall was just part 2 of Essex Dogs. I still have a hard time thinking of them as separate pieces.
Things that also don't age well: Horse puckey.
The tough thing about adding Tender to the list is that the damn gorgeous thing is almost 8 minutes long. That's like 3 songs you could squeeze on off of Modern Life is Rubbish!
I'm legitimately a fan of both groups and think Oasis gets a bit short shrift nowadays, but there's no doubt in my mind that Blur left a better legacy. I remember years ago some American music rag or other talking about how Blur vs. Oasis ended in a "first round knockout of Mike Tyson proportions" in favor of Oasis.…
For me, that always happens with Blur albums. First couple of listens are always a little weird, but then I lock into what they're going for and get obsessed. I've gotten to the point where I expect it.
Dawes.
I probably like Leisure more than most, even defending "Bang" from time to time, but it doesn't need huge representation on a 60 minute career retrospective of Blur. "She's So High" really has no place whatsoever on the list. I'd do an either/or with "Sing" and "There's No Other Way" - the former since it's a great…
Hahaha… good one.
You laugh, but my wife and I wrote a pretty funny plot for a Go-Bots movie. Basically it's Spaceballs but directed at the Transformers franchise. I wish someone would make it. Like tomorrow.
X stands for Xylophone. It always does.
Warlock was seriously awesome.
Should have at least blacked the phone number out, homey.
I had a similar argument with my sister. I think she just believes in second, third and fourth chances and Lohan became kind of the poster child for that.
Not to be a dick, but is she really that talented? I mean, she was a cute freckle-faced kid, but she's trying to bat in the big leagues now. She ain't exactly Meryl Streep. Or, you know, Anne Hathaway, or whoever.
There are some pop gems in there, though. Look up "Jingle Jangle" and "Waldo P. Emerson Jones". Nice Monkees leftovers.
I dunno. They were fun reads when I was a kid. Kind of analogous to something like Scooby Doo in animation. Respectable but entirely for children. Nothing wrong with that, either.
Finished up Daredevil, which I thought was pretty good, but didn't end as strongly as it began. Still, I'd give the season an A-, which is much better than I expected, going in. Elektra and Bullseye are probably inevitable, but here's hoping we get a solid take on Typhoid Mary in a future season. And maybe the…
Jungle Book: White Man's Burden
Hmmm… I'm seeing there were only 8 episodes on IMDB, but that doesn't really jive with my memory. Are we sure that's accurate? Wikipedia says Nick aired reruns from 1984 until 1991. Did they really do that with an 8 episode show?
