I think that what really pushes this from good kinja to great kinja is the subtlety in which three separate trolling comments are weaved together in two simple sentences. All three have been pointed out in the comments, but just in case anyone else missed them, in descending order of obviousness:

Because mentally ill people live all over the world and these types of mass shootings, generally speaking, do not happen in other industrialized countries. This was a mass shooting, it most certainly is an issue about guns.

The NRA is a terrorist organization that has convinced America will somehow fall into some sort of crazyland without deadly weapons available for all. Screw the NRA and all of its supporters.

As I read it Damon isn’t putting down JLo. He’s saying that everybody categorized Affleck a certain way because he was dating JLo and that was painful to see as Affleck’s friend and somebody who really knows him. That’s more of a slam on celebrity culture than JLo.
