Can you explain what the lyrics mean, and/or what the story behind the song is? It’s one of my favorites, but, on the surface, the lyrics do seem a little off.

Your PhD dissertation advisor was wrong. And, for what it’s worth, many European (especially UK) PhD programs and doctoral systems are garbage compared to US programs and systems.

To clarify: you can arrest some symptoms, and only slow down others. For example, my hair is okay, but my insulin resistance has progressed to diabetes type II. I’m pretty devastated about that, but such is life, I guess. Hopefully, you’ll be lucky and this won’t happen to you!
