LOL., indeed.
LOL., indeed.
Absolutely correct. I didn’t know season 6 was maligned. Due to the budget constraints, its focus on character over gimmick was solid, the final episode remains one of my favorites, and it introduced us to Frankie Dart, who is one Community’s best characters. (But then what do I know, I hold season 5 as better than…
If I’m remembering faces correctly, the woman who OD’d was the same woman who was playing the piano for Nygaard’s fundraiser earlier in the season. She was her former student. Which makes me wonder if Phippsy and she didn’t meet through Nygaard. Phippsy obviously resents her for some reason. I wonder if there isn’t…
The show did a decent job setting up the conspiracy with the newsreel about Japan invading Manchuria earlier in the season. Glad to see it pay off here.
They’re all so dreamy.
The opening being essentially a PC talking about their character’s cool & tragic backstory was so, so funny.
Prettiest show on TV right now. I can think of no less than three shots this episode that will stick with me for a while. Don’t think any other show’s using color as well, either.

Definitely higher than a C+ for me. It was definitely a re-grounding premiere, which I appreciated. It’s been so long. But man, I immediately got back into Perry Mason’s grumpy, put-upon vibe, and the reveal of what happened to the defendant of his first case was a gut-punch.
I’m very much in the “look, I get the point, OK? Violence is bad, and it only breeds more violence. We can only get through this by moving past it and working together. We are all the main characters in our own lives. I get it! But I’m with Joel here, if you don’t want none, don’t start none, okay?!” camp. It’s a very…
It does sort of seem like your potential enjoyment was hampered by needing to review the game, right? I never felt the need to go through the main story at anything other than my pace.
Look, if this will finally get us a new Chronicles of Riddick game then I’m all for it. Escape from Butcher Bay is one of the best games of the OG Xbox era, and I want a new one.
“We were trapped at home in the same house. We would write together—we’d put on matching sweatsuits—and sit in the living room and start at our computers. And then usually, it devolved into Dave as the one who is at the computer and I’m the one who’s walking around, acting out the scene,” Brie recalled, explaining…
She’s so cool, man.
Castlevania was incredible, and it was clearly made with care and love. Sypha’s magic was so cool.
Dude’s a great talent, and I think he’d nail it. But it’s also time to update the format a bit.
And now for another sorrowful year without Poppy and Ian in my life. Look, this wasn’t the smoothest season, and it feels like we got here way too soon. It had some highs, but it felt more focused on “get characters from A to C” storytelling.
Definitely. The underground battling arena scene was very cool.
Detective Pikachu takes a lot of its beats from the same game it shares its name with, though. For all its changes, it’s a pretty successful adaptation of the main beats from that game’s story. I’d love a sequel. Though I don’t know how they’d do it.
Now, why wouldn’t you have Torb as Hephaestus?
