Yahima.*

I enjoyed everything up until seeing Yashima treated so terribly. What the hell, show? I hope they come back because otherwise, what a waste of a character.

Aya Cash! I’m so excited to see her go full-on villain. I knew which way her character was going to go. Obviously, her character’s a Neo-Nazi. (From Portland. Smart.) But damn, her reveal was brutal. Can’t wait for Kimiko to do what that look at the end of episode three implies.

I think a moment where Superman is affected, visibly and explicitly, by all the carnage and devastation would’ve gone a long way toward feeling like he didn’t care that he was one of the major contributing factors, seeing as he was tossing Zod and friends into buildings without a care. Or even showing him be desperate

In the sense that Batman and Superman stories tend to exist in this “legendary” tier. The world of DC tends to be more...story-like? Larger than life? I don’t know. Maybe mythic wasn’t quite the word. But there’s a distinction between how Marvel and DC present the stories about their heroes that I can’t quite name. I

I had no issue with the damage in Man of Steel, per se. It makes sense. But why I mind it way more than Avengers, which I think handles it better, is that MoS doesn’t have Superman trying to prevent damage. He’s not trying to help people or evacuate people. He’s just fighting. Whereas at least the Avengers has

The enemies are still alive at the end, apparently. They struggle and then slump over, still breathing. But weirdly, I don’t mind Marvel heroes occasionally killing folks in the same way that I mind when DC heroes do. Like, yeah, Spidey’s no killer, but Cap, Black Widow, Thor, etc.? They’ll definitely take people out

I love that it’s a Ms. Marvel-centric campaign. The sequence in Bruce’s RV is pitch-perfect writing/direction/acting. I love small moments like that.

Her journey is very much her own. She loves superheroes, yeah, but that’s realistic for a world where superheroes exist, right? But she likes them more for what they represent than just because they’re famous. Kamala Khan’s a good egg, and it’s fun to see her grow into a hero.

Gamma Radiation, truly terrifying. I honestly think Mark Ruffalo could pull off an Immortal Hulk adaptation. But no way is Marvel brave enough to try it. I love Ewing’s ability to just go weird but still keep it feeling like Marvel.

Rachael Leigh Cook seems super damn cool, which makes sense. She was Josie, after all. Rightly, everyone now realizes how much that movie rules. It just took a second.

I remember a lot of those, and I probably did use more than a few on them. As a kid, I would probably spend hours searching for new skins. Finally ended up with a minimalist black and grey skin that I only found a Chrome version of in there, but which, at the time, made me feel classy.

I watched my first episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion as a tween on one of those channels. Didn’t understand what was happening, but I was hooked. Oh! Also got introduced to Azumanga Daioh! through those. What a trip.

Y’know, I believe in a world where Erin Moriarty’s one of the country’s biggest stars.

Yeah, that show’s gone to some lengths to rein in Ennis’ worst impulses. It always amazes me that that guy loves and respects Superman as much as he does. He can write some great stories...when he decides to come up out of the grime and muck. Such a strange writer. I read The Boys in its entirety when I was younger,

Speaking of Joe, no comic book issue last year gave me the chills that Immortal Hulk did with this page. WHEW. What a terrifying book.

Amazing.

On the one hand, her solo book was sort of fun, and more diversity is good. On the other, even now I find Cindy Moon overall, sadly, kind of boring. (And they never explained how she has different/stronger powers than Peter even though they got bit by the EXACT same spider, which bugs me.) Anya probably would’ve been

People of refined taste in this thread.

Well, annoying, yes. But not as outrageous as I’d assumed.
