the 99 corolla in the ad is the first to be designed with consideration to moderate offset crash standards the 92 corolla had no consideration

As far as the US market goes most CUV have about 8 inches of ground clearance and sedans top out at about 6 inches. The Global rav4 has 7 inches of ground clearance for some reason the US one is listed to have slightly less than the toyata sedans/corolla.

they could put an inch lift on those things and call it a cuv works for honda over here keep the wagon for those who dont want a CUV/SUV but move more a higher margin vehicle for those who want a soft roader/ live with horrible potholes and speedbumps and wanted a car that stands an inch taller.

I know places where speedbumps will make a yaris carrying passengers struggle even with the sideways approach.hence a ecosport outsells the fiesta even if it performs worse in every aspect.

it probably be closer to a NP vehicle had it not been “enhanced”

on a similar note don’t tease your DD about losing its DD status or taking a long road trip and not following thru with it or worse taking another car to said trip.

even stock corollas can have scraping problems when faced with really bad ramps/speedbumps

i totally forgot that toyota made the 2.8 with a top mount intercooler instead of a front mount and just assumed.Just checked the costa rican website and discovered that they offer these as their cheapest suv along with the fj, sequoia, LC, and both the prado and 4runner

maybe they meant this :)

They make manual lc200s ?!

it still has a touchscreen although if you are part of the UN or similar group toyota will sell you a manual 10/8 seater TD lc200 with no stereo on steelies

keep showing russia these photos they may swap a diesel into one like they did with the LX

is that the 3.0 liter diesel ? the newer 2.8 sips much less fuel so i have heard

They made a manual LC200 ?!!

The first gen fortuner did have full time 4wd atleast in some markets atleast. The cheapest prado is about $16,500 more expensive than the most expensive fortuner over here but the former is the only option if you wanted a stick shift 4wd.

you can blame that MPV’s closest predecessor part-timing in so many roles that they cant decide what to replace it with.

there is also another hilux based wagon that slots below the fortuner targeting the MPV market:

yep only the hiace and hilux get leaf springs

it was the last though
