chances are his initial reaction was to be on the brakes putting his bets on the lorry slowing down enough for the vehicle to go wherever it wants to go only to realize the vehicle is going nowhere thus swerves instead.

this is the correct take the 1st lorry would have hit the car even if he were to stand on the brakes as the car breached his lane so close to the lorry (atleast based on a gnarly russian dashcam video on an overtaking lorry rear ending a vehicle that went from overtaking another lorry to pulling an emergency stop to…
they ought to find the bean counters in the 80s and 90s.They approved putting adaptive suspension and turbos on the 86 jdm tercel.
Reminds me of the 2l engine family which had a habit of chewing through heads when toyota slapped a turbo on and put them in hilux surfs and land cruiser bodies.Turning up the boost and a bigger exhaust lessens the chance greatly though
there is a big chance with it being the latter seeing the state of maintenance or lack thereof with the mazda bongo our relatives owned the first oil change was more sludge than oil.
i think we can thank the displacement tax classes for encouraging japanese manufacturers to look for ways to squeeze power out of the kei car rulebook that was promptly applied to the rest of tax classes
cvts are not a new thing with nissan though they’d been making them with the 1992 micra.it doesnt help nissan/jatco that they put those earlier batch of bad cvts in everything that people from micra to compass owners will complain of the same problem that for each one who had a good experience will be overshadowed by…
The earlier ones earned that reputation just by driving up a hill and frying itself in the process while the newer ones are better they are still the first major thing to go even with proactive maintenance atleast on a cvt7 equipped mirage at 189k miles the cvt8 one seems to have issues though http://mirageforum.com/fo…
JATCO is 75% Nissan, 15% Mitsubishi Motors, and 10% Suzuki and mazda used to be involved in the alliance
Toyota had always known how to make a fun car until the bubble burst where they had to go full beige as did most Japanese manufacturers to save their ship.I guess after years of testing the enthusiast market with swapping some of their beige mobiles with the likes of a 2zz equipped doppelganger of a corolla wagon/…
i wish they would use that one instead but nope nissan is adamant with their cvt choice
not if jatco had their way with it
The autonomous system nighttime capability apparently appears to be at the same level of protection as most pedestrian safety tech that most manufacturers predicted and independent testing have proven to be insufficient.
The only problem with assuming worse visibility is that a.) darkness plays no role for LIDAR detection and b.) that video betrays itself showing multiple street lamps that indicate a well lit road. Given the circumstances being lenient on a system that will be one day expected to drive unlit country roads and deal…
I hope that the autonomous equipment is a separate thing (and much better ) from the dashcam.
What we would have seen from a decent dashcam on a lit road:
video cameras have a hard time with night time footage but this video in particular is especially poor when compared to a decent dashcam.
likely a video issue as there are lamps that illuminate the street but the video is still poorly lit.a decent dashcam can show more of the road even in complete darkness :
