The closest thing I’ve ever played to this was Kessen II, which is an early PS2 game. I’m not gonna lie, I picked it up because it looked like Dynasty Warriors (it’s all based on the Three Kingdoms story anyways).

One of the best uses of Chrono Trigger and Majora’s Mask music I’ve seen in a while.

My thoughts exactly. The competition is just too strong, whether it be for FPS games or other multiplayer games like MOBAs. PvP is everywhere, so giving co-op a try is the better alternative.

Wow, how did I ended up commenting on a post, from an article from the year 2012? The related article system had be fooled big time!
Still, I think my comment is still relevant today, even though things have improved a lot since the early years of the seventh console generation.

...why? Why does everything have to have fugly western art now?

Believe it or not, but some people are into this randomness because it makes all the other strategic aspects more important. A well-planned run on XCOM can compensate for losing a soldier or two. It pushes them to play better and riskier, instead of playing it save.

Ah, so that’s where my Battle Gear ended up at! It’s not like it had any real use in Metal Gear Solid V anyway.

Cool to see that a Starcraft II Arcade map is being featured by Kotaku!

Tetra Master would be more fun if they removed the “randomness” of the game. It’s so frustrating to use a super powerful card and watching it’s number plummet and eventually lose to something weaker...

Looks like they’ve just increased the internal resolution and added anti-aliasing to the mix. Backgrounds still look blurry, even on the Steam page screenshots.
I might as well play the game with an emulator, because I can achieve the same effect that way.

Gotta agree with this. The game is not super bad, but by today’s standards it’s not all that hot either.

This was the only article I loved reading about Konami in 2015.

You sir have won Christmas!

Fun fact: The German version of the game had the human enemies replaced by robots. Because making you not shoot on humans makes all the difference for an M-rated game amiright?

What genre is this game even? All I know is that’s a third-person game, in a modern-day setting, with most of the footage I’ve seen being set in a winter city.

Here is my recruitment link for Europe Hots. For some reason it wasn’t available up until now.

Are you on Americas region? Then I’m in (I play primarly on Europe). I don’t mind playing a few rounds in a new region to do a fellow Kotaku HotS player a favor.

It’s in situations like these that Tassadar’s Oracle ability would come in handy (reveals invisible units in a somewhat large radius around him). Unfortunately, most people don’t even know that this ability exists while playing as him (myself included) XD.

I enjoy Legacy of the Void quite a bit. The co-op missions are exactly the kind of random custom game sessions I always wanted for a quick break. And the campaign doesn’t disappoint either, there are some really challenging missions there.
