I agree with this. The design is way too busy, even on the Limited, and the douche bro trims just look downright absurd. Current-gen is leagues better.

I can’t help but adore the Crown - it just makes me happy to see one because they’re so weird. They’re also proving to be extremely popular with the olds, so that gives me hope they’ll be some clean ones around in 5-10 years.
I would be tripping over myself to buy this if Toyota decided to do the right thing and sell it, but my concern is that it’s a pre-production model or something and doesn’t have a VIN.
I would choose to buy the new car with a warranty and creature comforts over the 25 year old gamble with a likely dubious past that was overrated to start with.
Hello, Mary Barra.
Reminder that only boring people hate Mitsuokas.
Hopefully people will start hitting these with hammers now, too.
Regardless of what they all said when the C8 was first announced, I can assure you that the boomers do in fact love them.
They simply cannot get enough of these piles o shit.
I understand it. Just because the rest of the world has caught up to it in terms of performance doesn’t mean it still isn’t extremely fast. It also has a delightfully tactile interior, no added hybrid tech complications, and even at $120k it’s going to hold its value pretty well. It isn’t a bad choice for somebody who…

They all want to fuck that old man so bad.
It probably would be possible to have a reliable-ish Phaeton if you stay on top of maintenance and fix problems. The issue with something like this is that the maintenance is so intensive and the problems will appear so frequently that it’s going to be challenging for a private owner to stay on top of everything.…
The single biggest argument against the superiority of German engineering.
No, he’s dead.
My aunt’s now-dead boyfriend would go to our rural airport and just do this for fun before he died. He’s dead now, which is good.
It’s insane to not see comments on AVC any more. It was probably the best comments section to be found anywhere before Gawker tanked. Absolutely wild that all those years of entertainment are just quietly and unceremoniously ended forever on a Wednesday afternoon.
So have the powers that be also grenaded the AV Club comments section? If so, I think we’re probably next.
I can’t imagine living in a country that does stuff like that.
