the windmills didnt freeze you cock. those were doctored pictures. texas grid failed because of natural gas wells freezing up. we lost over 20Gw of natural gas power.  if antarctica research stations can run off windmills without a problem then texas sure as hell can.  and wind and solar have saved it since the freeze

Who’s mandating people drive EVs?

Norway is going big time into EVs. Norway is cold.

Secretary Buttigieg thinks deeply about problems and solutions. That is a fine quality in a leader. I also hope he becomes President someday soon. He just turned 42, so he has time and he no doubt has learned much as Transportation Secretary. It was the perfect Cabinet role for him. I see him as President-in-training.

I wish we could summon him for President but we live in a country full of bigots.

Part (but not all) of the problem with ‘The Green New Deal” was that the primary faces of it were two people who call themselves ‘socialists’ (Bernie and AOC). Which is profoundly stupid, since neither of them are actual socialists. Neither of them are calling for state ownership of the means of production. High taxes

Mining for the materials to create batteries is not great for the environment.

That is not a grid problem, that was the result of poor power plant design and risk management compounded by abhorrent decisions to not connect the electrical grid across the state lines outside of Texas in the event of complete grid failure or power demand shortfalls. Please educate yourself on subjects before making

“windmills”. thats one of the top ways to call yourself as someone who doesnt know anything on the subject. Windmills make flour, not electricty. If you were do your homework you’d realize that the last time Texas had weather related blackouts it was due to improperly weatherized natural gas infrastructure, no frozen

So what we need is something like a newer, greener version of the New Deal. Too bad half the country thinks such a thing is “woke socialism.”

Tell that to the “old people” in Chicago freezing in line to charge their EVs.

Then build the grid up FFS. The grid is not a static thing. Immutable, unchangeable since the dawn of time until the end of time. JEBUS people would now bitch about the grid not ready for the rural electrification project or the grid not ready for the manhattan project. Sorry no war ending bomb the grid was not ready.

There’s just something satisfying about the GM column shifter.

Seems weird the homeowner should be on the hook for this. The contracter took a job for which they weren’t being paid, okay, sucks to be them. But they also ripped up a driveway they didn’t have permission to rip up. They oughta be on the hook for making good the homeowner’s property that they destroyed without

Yeah I remember the days. The serotonin I received from this article distinctly reminded me of how I used to feel reading articles 3-4+ years ago. And I recall seeing your comments back then too lol.

Kevin - to you and the other Jalopnik writer, we kindly ask for more articles like this. So often when journalists are flown out for an event, 90% of the reviews of any car it is is positive with a slight negative sentence at the end. This felt real, unadulterated, truth, and resonated with a lot of us readers, check

man I miss COTD, I don’t miss the weirdo that would always post a bikini shot in the comments of each one but the idea of propping up good, informative, or witty comments was great.

Vingroup has businesses all over Vietnam. You might buy groceries at VinMart and clothing at VinPlaza.

Hey Jalopnik! More articles like this.

Seems to me that’s what VinFast was expecting.
