That’s the sort of thing I expected. Not to downplay all the drama surrounding DAP, but this really isn’t a big deal. I get people would try to make hay out of it and frame it as an indictment of pipelines in general, but this was a very small, contained leak in a station with zero long term effects.
I’d be curious to know what the source of the leak was. All of this pipeline would have to been hydrotested/pressure tested prior to going into service, so was it an open valve? A loose flange or cap at a pigging station? Knowing why the line leaked is very important to differentiate between an operational mistake…
