I think some cities in California have been cheaping out on that porcelain coating. There are at least half a dozen here in Sacramento that are barely pigmented.

You have to have coverage above liability for your car to be totaled. Most folks driving a recently engined swapped Prelude probably wouldn’t be rocking full coverage. They would know it probably isn’t going to be worth it. If they are in fact rocking full coverage it’s probably because they know they can buy it back…

I’d be surprised if you could get a single mile of highway from Caltrans for $3million bucks. There is no way in hell you would get 1,200 miles of it for anything less then trillions.

Hell even closed cell foam, flocking and some velcro. Minicell foam sheet and a sheet of 3M carbon fiber vehicle wrap would probably be a good looking cheap solution. Certainly would hurt less if you hit it with your funny bone.
