Your in the wrong section, this needs to go in lane splitter.

Ahem, what about rotaries, no cams, no valves, no problems!

Another RX7 oddity. Its likely your key will open many other RX7s or maybe mazdas in general. Mazda didn’t make very many unique cuts for the keys back in the 70s/80s.

On the plus side it has cool front vent windows that went the way of the dodo in modern cars.

Pulled you from the greys to get the pics. Thanks. Another RX7 was in there so worth it.

One of the biggest mistakes they made was an option for an automatic on a rotary. It never ends well. Many of the failures were caused by carbon build up in engines with automatics because they didn’t redline very easily.

Back in the day, trying to buy a 1979 RX7 for sticker, no different than today.

I guess MAZDAs are not too coveted over there. Only one vert FC, shame.

Typical ignorant comment on rotaries. Unboosted rotaries that have consistent maintenance (oil changes/level) are good for 300K easy before needing any sort of refresh. Find a piston engine that does that.

Real men tune carbs!

Ah yes the 12 rotor boat motor. What a beast!

I was going to point out the same thing. The titles premise is not borne out by the facts in the article or its tables. WTF?

Missed this earlier. These are the best cars ever! Thanks for the rotary love folks!

I was on Jalopnik, why am I gray here? Stoopid websites.

In the US the common practice on the interstates is to slowly turn your lights off and then back on or vice-a-versa during the day to thank someone for letting you in or passing. If you grew up in the midwest, this was learned at an early age when dealing with 18 wheelers on the highway.

Well that sums it up, drifting is not racing. I only saw 2 examples take the right line to get through that turn.

Ha!. My first car (1980 RX7) was $7,200.00 in 1983 (used) with a 19% interest rate. I was so glad whan that was paid off 3 years later!

Looks a lot like the stick in my 2007 F150.

I replaced all my lights on my 80 RX7 with LEDs. So now I always have at least the parking lights on all the time driving and parking. For me its a safety thing, it makes folks see my tiny car. Sometimes it causes undue panic at local C&C when I do this.

Plasti-dip is always the answer.
