The Android Auto data collection rumor was refuted 3 years ago but ok.

There are people with money, German cars, and Android phones. I’m one of them. It’s still BS that I can use Android Auto in a Hyundai Elantra but BMW and Porsche don't even let you pay for the privilege, because of course even just CarPlay is an option with both brands.

Until this year, my dad had a 2007 Saab 9-3 Aero 2.8T convertible, and my mom had a 2005 Acura MDX. Both bought new.

Why can’t Ze Germans get on the Android Auto bandwagon? BMW and Porsche are CarPlay only. At least Porsche isn’t pulling the same crap as BMW and making CarPlay a subscription. Meanwhile, both are standard on entry level Hondas and Kias.

My parents own two boats (they were my dad’s idea) and both of them bought Volvo XC60s complete with Volvo genuine accessory tow hitches this year. Can you guess which one is my dad’s?

I hate Jeff Sessions because of who he is and what he stands for, but I love that Jeff Sessions manages to continually piss off Trump by (occasionally) following the rules. 

I use a combination of fingerprint and Smart Lock, with PIN as a backup. I have Smart Lock set to unlock my phone at home and when it’s connected to the bluetooth in my car. The rest of the time it’s fingerprint, or if I really don’t want to reach around the back of the phone, I’ll do my PIN.

FWD + LSD ain’t all that bad, especially with other tricks like equal-length half shafts, and decoupled steering knuckles. But as far as I know Honda/Acura have only offered LSDs on manual transmissions over the years (including the current Civic Si and Type-R).

Fun fact: my dad bought a Volvo XC60 earlier this year, and then when my mom totalled her old 2005 Acura MDX, she went and bought another XC60 for herself. She made sure to tell me she paid $1000 less than my dad did for his, “but he still got an excellent deal.”

We recently traded my wife’s 2016 Impreza in for a Mazda CX-5. She wanted something a little bigger and higher off the ground, but whenever I've pointed out a Crosstrek to her she always hated the look of the cladding. We didn't want to wait for the 2019 Forester so looked at the CX-5 and CR-V instead. 

The Focus Active is like Ford’s take on the Subaru Crosstrek, and was part of Ford’s plan going forward. It was going to be the intermediate step between the EcoSport and Escape. But now it’s cancelled.

It’s admittedly been a couple years since I placed an order with ECS but the times I did, I had a generally favorable experience with it. They were...fine.

All I can tell you is Star Wars fandom is a crazy thing.
