I’m pretty sure he’s just looking at the ever-tightening regulations, a trickle of countries and cities setting explicit phase-outs for combustion engines with more on the horizon, what companies have been explicitly saying about their production plans, and what that all means for the future. It’s going to take time

Somebody must’ve done a study to see what the actual average range of deviations are for panel gaps by now. I’d be interested in seeing exactly where Tesla falls on that scale and what the norm is.

I can’t help but be automatically highly wary of people that try the both sides argument on divisive issues or anything that has had a lot of political spin around it. *Especially* the enlightened centrist types.

What do people think the reasons are that so many governments are rushing to explore space right now? A *significant* motivation is the rush to mine asteroids and other planets/moons for resources that are rare on Earth and the commercialization of space, outside of some military motivations and a desire to drive

I’m assuming that like most people, he has different aspects to his personality comprised of both positive and negative traits. And how he thinks/behaves may be a bit different depending on who he is around and what his mood is at the moment. We do have room for nuance, but it seems like opinions around Musk

Convenience aside, it’s a push based on safety. Humans are by far the most dangerous thing in the car and are responsible for over 90% of accidents. So the logic goes, you save the most lives by removing the flaws and mistakes of people from the equation as much as possible. At least that’s the theory. Personally, I

When we get to the point that robots are capable of doing all the chores and other tasks we don’t particularly care for, I wonder how many people are going to find themselves drawn to them. It seems like it’s just a matter of time, and frankly I’m all for it. With humanoid robots the potential for creepiness goes up

Go get yourself some of the lab grown ones when you do. They are literally impossible to tell apart from natural ones now, and they will save you a large amount of money. More money for Mai Tais.

It might have something to do with their PR department apparently being shut down, and having been increasingly ignored for the past year or so.

They reportedly dissolved their entire PR department, so I don’t think it’s a personal thing here.

Going fast, breaking things, and having to fix them later in a car is just the normal order for a vigorous track day.

At best that is a half true statement. But honestly, I think you’re ignoring some pretty significant history here.

I don’t think it’s as simple as a direct comparison of the two cars, there are the company’s themselves to consider. Volkswagen is not exactly a popular brand in the US, but overseas that of course is a different story. And despite its share of quality issues and controversy, Tesla is generally seen as a desirable

I can’t help but like those blue accents. And I am curious about whether BMW is going to go for all out performance or if they’ll try to focus more on engagement/experience here. They’ve been drifting away from that, but it would be a different track to take for a performance EV. Either way, I’m interested in seeing

I’m pretty sure you do the same thing you would do in a gas powered car. Break the window and swim out

Whatever your opinions on the cars or Elon are, that’s not the issue here at all. They’re talking about the coverage on the website, what appears to be a clear double standard.

If he had actually said anything like that then sure, but that’s not what his criticism was.

The roadster would still have more range.

The dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park/World series not being faithful to what they looked like in reality is explained in canon by them not being actual dinosaurs. But honestly, I never really understood why people got that upset about that. It’s not like it’s meant to be educational material.

I misread that as Belkan, for a second. I was getting ready to invest in a nuclear shelter and jet fuel, and start googling cartographers.
