I totally agree - expand peoples’ definition of what a family is, and be accepting of families in all forms, but this viewpoint, where families are only a source of negativity, is bizarre.  People are social animals who thrive in supportive environments.  I don’t get this at all.

While I’m sure that many of these parents do worry about the children’s health, I think a lot of the stigma against autism comes from the fact that a lot of people view their children as status symbols. They don’t want a “broken” child because it reflects badly on them.

This is know different that any other conspiracy theories in that its all born out of fear. Some people refuse to believe that some seemingly random shit can happen because they cannot live with that fear.

Honestly, I feel the opposite? I feel more color to my world when I’m on birth control than off. I take it bc I have heavy painful periods and reduce the amount I have. My periods take a lot out of me so reducing them has made a big improvement
