So a movie start allows someone to use his Malibu beach house and her instinct is to get all snarky about it on a podcast because it has Titanic stuff in it? What an asshole.

I know we’re all starved for gossip, but is it possible Kevin just meant that as a reaction gif?

Something I find curious, and I assume will be a subject of deep analysis within the party, is how the flipping of Georgia and Arizona will be interpreted. It is beyond question that the grassroots efforts led by progressive parts of the party were the driving for it, but the states flipped for a moderate candidate.

Also, I say the fascist thing with total love for my little wannabe supreme overlord.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socks_(cat)I think most cats are fascists but...

Great, now I have the image of Lindsey Graham dressed up like one of the girls in Sweet Charity singing Hey Big Spender. ~shudder~ Thanks a lot for that image right before bed!

This is a great suggestion.

Very good point.

I was going to make a similar comment. The adaptation will need to rework the thick vein of misogyny that runs through the books. No matter how far into the future the story goes, it’s always 1950s-o’clock when it comes to sexual politics.

Thank you! No kidding-when I got to the part where the “fashion” was to leave one breast out in the open, I rolled my eyes.

Thank you, you wrote what I was thinking. Change isn’t easy or quick. It takes having the same conversation over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again with people of opposing mindsets to slowly change minds and create change. I’m a Quaker, we make all of our decisions in groups, there is no hierarchal

Well if you read some other gossip blogs, they both like yachts (as do Yolanda’s daughters)

Contrapoints has a fucking phenomenal video essay about cancelling.

Yeah, let’s see: Tracie Egan Morrissey used to write for Jezebel, and she dropped this bit of brilliance during an interview:

I live about two blocks from that Target (which is... just a Target), and while everyone’s focusing on the Target and Aldi, nobody’s talking about all the Somali and Latinx businesses that also got destroyed, or the low income medical clinic, the subsidized housing, etc.

My question is; why did she agree to be the plaintiff? My understanding is that by agreeing to do so she essentially guaranteed that she would never be able to get her abortion. Did she believe in the cause? If so her taking money to say otherwise is exceptionally shitty. Or was she told she would receive compensation

The main problem with the second approach? People tend to know when you’re lying.

Probably because so much of what passes for being progressive online is taking ideologically sexy but wildly unrealistic positions and then shitting all over people who don’t match those positions 100%

I have seen lesbian weddings on Instagram with some of the most beautiful, girly dresses ever so you might be right. Women may just want more opportunities to wear ball gowns.
