People of all ages and genders have been shown to use all of these vocal features, yes—that’s exactly my point. The fact that these negatively valenced traits get characterized as “feminine” is exactly what I mean when I say gendered constructions are at work here.

In theory, it would be fine for someone to hate a vocal feature regardless of the speaker. In practice, that’s not the way it works.
