I’m inside now so they’re pinker but when they get cold they seem to go really pale. Poor circulation?

I laughed even though my hand is even paler

Last night I finished Cry, The Beloved Country, about the lead up to apartheid in South Africa. This passage really spoke to me, given the situation we find ourselves in globally:

Same in Australia, even the conservatives I know are fucking horrified.

I was holding it together pretty well until I watched this episode while working out and they showed footage of Clinton telling little girls they matter. Then I started bawling into my rowing machine. It’s like Sam made it safe for me to feel my feelings.

Speaking from experience as an Australian who had to deal with people who voted for Tony Abbott (admittedly not as bad as Trump, but still vile) it gets easier over time. Don’t try to talk to them about it now. You’re too emotional and they’re still too full of their victory. Avoid them. If you leave it a couple of

I know you’re not all so awful because I interact every day with wonderful Americans who believe passionately in a dream of equality and freedom for everyone.  I still believe those people won’t let this stop them, they’ll keep fighting until that dream is realised.

We’ve all been failing each other lately, but I have to believe that the future holds better versions of nations, if we don’t give up.

Just wanna say that there are a lot of people in Australia (and the rest of the world) who love you guys and are rallying behind you to crush these bigoted shits four years from now.

The system criticism always drives me a little bit nuts because it’s so hard for a woman to get anywhere if she doesn’t work at least somewhat inside the system. Or, more accurately, make the system work for her. If we wait for women candidates from outside the system we’ll be waiting a long fucking time.

“Welcome to being an adult”

This is the feeling I’ve been trying to put into words every time somebody implies we shouldn’t be excited about a woman US president because she’s not a 100% perfect paragon of progressive values. Like fuck you, there’ve been disappointing male leaders for centuries, it’s time for a woman to occasionally let us down.

Honestly I’d probably be sobbing uncontrollably in her position

Clinton never looks happier than when she’s hugging an Obama. I believe 100% that this is an absolutely sincere friendship.

Sometimes they’re in normal seeming places though, like just outside Philly. I comfort myself with the reminder that I could not handle living with all that snow.

The depressing newspaper articles really just add insult to injury. Our papers run about ten articles a week about how baby boomer investors have ruined the property market for gen y because it is guaranteed clickbait and always generates thousands of comments. One day there will be a civil war over this issue. I

When they choose a more expensive house out in the boonies just because it’s bigger I judge them as people.

Ouch :(

My inheritance would be an actual apartment but hopefully that’s not happening any time soon

At the very least the record should include some kind of risk rating.
