Unfortunately, they didn't consider her to be there at all to talk about her work. Marriage>lady careers. >.<
Very cool. Keep up the good work!
Congratulations!!!! May I ask, what population/cause do you serve?
The organization will still get some recognition for it, but honestly, I think only by folks like us who are pissed that a woman's career was, once again, overshadowed by the idea of marriage. So not the majority. Ha ha ha.
I totally agree. I think there will be lots of folks, like, the ones commenting here, that will be willing to step up and recognize this charity and even donate financially. Thanks for the important work you do for your organization!
Truth, truth, and more truth! The thing is, the non profit probably DID know about it, and supported it anyway!? I mean, there's no way I could just go on national TV without my boss knowing about it, which tells me that HER organization must have been in on it too! I'm so confused!
Oh I have no doubts that he used it as a pretext; she was the only one who didn't know she wasn't really there to talk about her career. The article states that she had even rehearsed with her now fiance what she would say on tv. It doesn't say specifically that the TODAY show was behind it, but they had to have…
Just sent them this:
This woman went on live national television to talk about amazing work that she's doing, and she gets interrupted by her boyfriend's selfish proposal. The line "You're not here to talk about the work you're doing" hit me. OH, EXCUSE ME? I'M NOT? WHO ARE YOU?

Trafficking doesn't necessarily, or maybe hardly ever, means just selling her off. It means selling her over and over and over again to make money, therefore, she's theirs. Their possession. They keep her.
And just what does "evidence that she wasn't molested" look like?
Being from Wisconsin, I have not been able to forget :'-( He's still here. And doing things.
I love me some happy snoopy dance!!
If her bio parents actually did sell her, they shouldn't get the CHANCE to sell her again. They shouldn't get her back, and should be put in PRISON.
That one that goes "It's Friday I'm in Love"!?!?!?! That's the first thing that came to mind when it started?!
My friends and I have developed a ridiculous inside joke referring to taking food home from restaurants as "meat baggies," and you, my friend, just posted the best meat baggie picture ever ever ever.
I may be having a super, duper dense moment, but I don't get the joke in her tweet. Help??? What does she meeeeeeeean.
Isn't it ironic? Don't you think?
