I don’t care what specific thing you’re talking about - weed, alcohol, crack, skittles - if your multi million dollar profession requires you to stop taking it, and you physically can’t, you’ve got a problem

Dude it was already an away game.
Nice. Last weekend I took my dog up a 14'er in Colorado. We took a uh, more “creative” route than normal. Close to the summit we’re halfway through this talus field when she gets tired of the bullshit rock hopping and just lays the fuck down. No amount of sweet talking, begging, commanding or bribing is getting her…
you’re getting roasted, as you knew you would. But this is a liberal article on a liberal website with liberal readers. And somehow your not-toeing-the-line comment is the most starred. That’s a good way to tell you’re on to something.
I’m not arguing with you about measuring body fat being better. It absolutely is. You still see BMI used (which isn’t worthless, just worth less) because the data is widely available. Things might change at some point, but we’re far from that point.
You’re 100% right.
more difficult than getting BMI. BMI is often used not because it’s better, but because the information is available. It’s better than nothing.
I’d choose NFL, but the problem is surviving enough plays to get that first down. Presumably it isn’t “you have one play to get this”. So assuming I’m a running back, that means I’ve got to pass block and pick up blitzes for as many drives as it takes to actually pick up a first down. I’m a reasonably tough guy, but…
Still in play:
take a star for helping me get the joke
it seems physically impossible for a college football coach to unequivocally come out and say that players should switch schools unencumbered when they want to
gotta write about something man. Those pages aren’t going to view themselves
... he literally wrote what he thought she should say in the comment
this guy certainly has done exactly zero to earn it. There are a lot of jobs in the world that are not in sports franchise’s front offices.
I’m fine with most of what you just said. The guy committed a crime, served what seems to be a too-light sentence, feels little/no remorse for anything, falsified his resume, is an asshole, fuck him. Agree on all points.
I don’t see that on a google search for “Pete Philo”. The first negative entry I see is this story, on the top of page 2.
I looked at that link, and followed the reference in the 2nd sentence stating she didn’t have much climbing experience. This quote stuck out:
eh, Everest isn’t exactly a “walk to the top” mountain. “All they do is hike with someone holding their hand” is pretty inaccurate. This article was an interesting read on the process.
Oh overcrowding is an issue, no one disputes that. We will have to figure out what level of “crowding” is acceptable and take steps to get there. I have two real problems with the coverage lately:
it’s become a crowded Instagram location for bored rich people trying to prove something
