Well played mouth breather......well played.

That's actually funny as hell. But....umm....

I mean, best case scenario for the Clippers in that situation is that the refs actually call the foul, like they should have. OKC gets 2 free throws, maybe ties the game but I'm not so sure Jackson even makes both, and the Clippers have the ball with a chance to win or force OT at worst. As it were, the refs missed

No chance. Cliff Paul delivers.

Bingo. Give yourself a little more credit. You already know more about basketball than 50% of NBA players.

That was definitely the worst part of that play. Not Barnes fouling Jackson and the refs missing it. Not the refs incorrectly ruling who touched the ball last. But the fact that Jackson had TWO options to dish the ball to, one of which is the current MVP coming to the hole with some steam, and he decides to take

I love Drew's writing. I disagree with his views on a lot of things, but he's funny. I also heard him on the Dino Costa show before he was booted from Sirius/XM. They were debating the Redskins name. Drew couldn't have come off as a more whiny brat. He was nearly in tears and I'm pretty sure he just hung up

I don't know if it was so much the rule change as the philosophical change by the Giants and Posey. They don't want him blocking the plate anymore, even legally. They talked about that after he was injured in the collision. The rule change just kind of forces all catchers to adopt that philosophy of just swipe

Schmuck In The Air

Then why did you bring up Babe Ruth if one person doesn't prove a point? Your original point was that a guy who goes 100% all the time is a guy that will be on the DL. The only guy that immediately comes to mind as going 100% all the time was Pete Rose. He doesn't fit your bill. It's alright though. I guess we'll

I have no clue, and I'm not sure that anyone who's alive knows that answer. What we do know is that Pete Rose absolutely did. He managed to average about 148 games per season, even when you include the last 4 or 5 years of his career when he was barely playing. Take those out and he's well over 150. So for the

a metallic squint...

How often was Pete Rose on the DL?

That's weird. So a professional athlete who must sprint 30 yards, at max 5 times a day, cannot possibly do that without hurting himself? Doesn't say much for baseball players...

That's good. I don't know the last time I actually saw a player doing that. Kinda makes me feel warm inside.

I definitely think it's faster, but of course I don't know that there's any way to actually prove it. When there's a doubt, I usually look at the guys who do it better than anybody else. Nobody's ever run the bases better than Ricky Henderson, and he always slid head first. Not that all good players know everything

You would also be asking people who (I would hope) are extremely competitive people to not compete to the best of their ability. I get telling them not to bust it down the line on pretty automatic outs, or not sliding head first, although I don't agree with either of them. I at least get it. Why would you tell

He does strike me as someone who would do that though. Not the irritating part, but just doing some of the old school quirky things about the game. I actually really like the guy, but I kind of get why people hate him so much.

Yeah, I definitely overlooked that point. Thanks for not crucifying me. But I do wish more guys would do it once they've reached base.

There's a really simple solution to this problem. Most of the injuries involving fingers or hands could be easily avoided. Sliding head first is faster than sliding feet first. There is a place for it. But what runners don't do anymore is hold their batting gloves. I was taught at a very young age that when I ran
