The truth is that these ships will never be less vulnerable than any other ship in the Navy. Any active protection system that can be fitted to a Ticonderoga-class Cruiser can be fitted to the Iowa-classes. The Iowa classes are just as fast (even faster in some cases) than their modern counterparts. Ships like the

My friends and I did a little bit of a mental exercise on reactivating these warships, and with significant upgrades and overhauls, they could very well be capable fighting vessels. Of course, the costs are in the Billions.

Let me guess, those Brits wired it up themselves...

You plan to destroy the US Navy, but you can’t even render in 1080p?

I was going to post THIS EXACT SAME THING, but figured it would get buried under other more hilarious repairs. I rebuilt the 4r70W on our 97 Tbird and it was a mess, managed to do it in 2 days though. That transmission lasted a whole 4 hours, in a racing environment, but still!

Obesity rates are around 30% in the US. Notice that figure I put up there, 1 in 20? Do some math, Engineer_you_probably_aren’t.

A “bunch” is an understatement. There are approximately 52 million gun owners in the USA. Even if only 1 out of every 20 is a worthwhile combatant, then they still outnumber the entire Chinese Army by 400,000 men (or women).

I prefer to swordfight like an Archaeologist.

What’s the inside of that turret look like? You could easily penetrate the outer layer of RHA, and a couple layers of composite and DU without actually getting through the spall liner and into the crew compartment. I know a Challenger 2 got its lower glacis penetrated by an RPG-29, driver got his foot blown off, but

Exactly what I was thinking. Are there any instances of the Crew Compartment of a buttoned-up US-Spec M1A2 being penetrated? I know one got “knocked out” when an RPG-7 firing a tandem-warhead round severed a fuel line in the engine compartment, but I know of no instances where the crew compartment was fully penetrated.

A rider who thinks he can block traffic in the left turn lane so all his buddies in the right turn lane can cut off everyone at the intersection and turn left.

This is what the world needs to assault the stronghold of M. BISON!

You’d think GM would take advantage of that with their awesome Heads Up Display tech.

I have an honest question. What percentage of nations that signed the Convention on Cluster Munitions actually have the ability to wield such weapons on a significant scale?

Pretty sure the whole thing is streamming on Youtube, under the 24 Heuers du Mans channel. I’m watching the pre-race programming right now.

I have been “that guy” before. As a lover of classic sports cars, and someone who also happens to be 6’-6”, I don’t have the luxury of fitting in most old cars, and I don’t know until I try.
