NFL players play in the environment that they have collectively bargained. Once a workforce is unionized, the only people that should get blame about wages is that unionized workforce. Don’t like it? Bargain for something better. That’s the whole point. Why have a union otherwise?

99% of NFL players are replaceable- not at equal skill levels, but at a level that the public is willing to tolerate.
