This blind allegiance is a sad commentary on peoples inability to think critically and actually reason to an opinion.”

As a cyclist, I’ve actually been excited about self-driving cars because how could they be as bad as human motorists? And now I see: just as bad, with their own cheerleading squad.

That would confuse the lifted coal-rolling brigade:

The scariest part is how quickly the driver turns to justifying what happened. That level of blind support for anything is a commentary on so much of what is happening around us... on either side of any issue.

My little 700-resident town got a HUMMVEE for “rescue” operations.

If that doesn’t scream police state I don’t know what does.

They probably got it for free and now require fees to cover the maintenance.

The fact that this is parked at a Community Center is especially insidious....

This pretty much says it all. Remember, this is a town with fewer than 1,500 residents.

Um, the US is a third world country.

Sounds like a 3rd world country.

And probably have no hope of winning said lawsuit.

Well, the Supreme Court has already decided that flashing headlights is covered by the First Amendment. I hope that can get sorted pretty quickly. Otherwise, I hope they get disincorporated and some people in power go to jail like in that speed trap town in Ohio.

The forfeitures numbers are terrifying. Imagine you are on a family vacation and some small town cop decides your car and all your stuff is now their property and you have to sue to get it back.

I deleted my FB account and have been frequenting forums again.  I find it refreshing.
