The “if you don’t like Cam Newton, you’re racist” crap should have been our first indication that Trump was going to win. Somebody got a liiiiiiiiittle cocky in the culture wars there, and there would be consequences...

Pretty sure it’s not accurate to say that Kaep “chose” to be a free agent. The Niners had an option on his contract and made it very clear they were going to cut him if he didn’t option out himself.

THAT’S MY QUARTERBACK.

Do you think it’s the lack of prestige or maybe the business reasons that you’re laying out that make MLS less appealing to foreign owners wanting to make a big splash?

Let’s be real though- fuck their cause, but that’s catchier than “Black Lives Matter,” bite included.

Are there rules against foreign ownership? Because it says a lot to me that rich dudes from all over the globe are apparently dying to throw money around in pretty much every league except MLS.

That’s basketball, not football. Dallas, Pittsburgh, Green Bay... that’s one of my favorite things about the NFL when contrasted with pro hoops and baseball, the right teams usually get their shine no matter where they are instead of the media breathlessly wondering when the glamour teams will get their acts together.

List checks out- the Rams didn’t even make the cut.

I feel like that describes a lot of fans even here, outside San Diego. They broke lifelong fans in a way I don’t think any other sports team has.

It Wasn’t Me is one of the greatest songs of the last twenty years.

I want to say he did? I know Michael Bennett voiced support for Kaep at the time. Even if Sherman wasn’t as vocal then, I don’t think he’s ever done (or not done) anything to be considered the slightest bit hypocritical for this take.

I’m hearing that SJ Earthquakes tickets are comparable if not actually cheaper than tickets to the SF NASL team... who last week coincidentally began crowdsourcing why nobody wants to go to their games and presented three theories as to why, with “laughably high ticket prices” not among them.

The Raiders @ Chargers game last year was one of the most amazing things I had ever seen in my entire lifetime watching sports- the crowd seriously appeared to be 90% Raiders fans. It was due to a number of factors, including Chargers fans reportedly making the conscious effort to sell their tickets to Raiders fans to

“an honorable way for those who want to get out to get out”—similar to what Japan’s disgraced warrior class has been doing for centuries.

They are gassing him up huge out here right now. They also are calling their FB an “offensive weapon.”

Agree with everything you’re saying, except that it precludes Richard Sherman from voicing this opinion. He’s not the GM.

It’s so practical. Germs. Gloves. Social anxiety. It’s the most inoffensive gesture of personal contact that can be asked for. Dap it up.

Fistbump, br0.

I’ve been in that exact workplace situation as well, and that about sums it up. But I’m not the type who needs your DNA to say bye, so it was not an issue for me at all. A woman extends her hand, I shake it earnestly. Other than that, pleasant vocal greetings and farewells more than suffice.

The high-five has had its fair chance, and doesn’t quite cut it. Inter-gender celebratory gesture, sure. Too much irony for an inter-gender greeting or parting.
