San Francisco is a terrible sports town. I’ve lived within 100 miles of it my whole life so I can only compare and contrast it to other cities up to a certain point, but all indications are it’s as bad or worse than anywhere else in this regard, and it’s only been exacerbated recently because of all the transplants.

The Warriors used to have a great fan base. Now they have a worse, much larger bandwagonny fan base. It’s mostly an SF thing, but it is very, very real.

There was a case here in SF a few years ago where the cops tried to stop a guy for fare evasion. He ran, ended up pulling a gun and I believe fired it at them, they returned fire and killed him. He turned out to be on the run from killing a woman in Seattle.

My best guess on the “no tipping” is that I assume the people who would be in line for tips are the bottom of the totem pole carry-out folks, and if they were getting tips they’d actually end up getting paid more than the floor staff. Can’t have that!
