Go a bit further back and look at the F-16. It got bad bad press in the ‘80s to the point HBO did a tv movie about it. Now its one of the most successful fighters out there.

Not for the Ho. 229 a deliverable nuclear weapon small enough to be carried on a tactical aircraft like the Ho 229 was decades away. The Horten H.XVIII was the strategic bomber and that one didn’t even make it to the mockup stage. Even the Me 264 Amerika bomber would have been hard pressed to deliver the 10,000 + Lbs…

I would hate to have to do phase maintenance on a 6 engine WWII era bomber especially with the service life of 10-25 Hours before major overhaul.

The old saying “Amateurs talk about tactics, but professionals study logistics” is always applicable granted you could change tactics to equipment in this case.
