Area 51 was called Indian Springs Air Force Auxiliary Field and that opened in ‘42 but all the secret testing was done for the WWII/early post war era @ Muroc Air Force Base which is now Edwards Air Force base. In fact Capt. Glen Edwards that Edwards AFB is named after died in a YB-49 crash.

The 229 was not the first flying wing... And If they would have built more it would have changed nothing the Luftwaffe would still have a lack of qualified pilots and little fuel.

I always wanted to ride in one. If I even hit big money I am buying one. Neat old school aircraft ftw.

When I was a kid I got a HUGE book of aircraft that had 3 angle line drawings in it and I always figured the sea vixen one was an error with the cockpit of to one side. Later on thanks to the internet I found out why it wasn’t. Silly the book didn’t mention that Radar operators cockpit.

OMG Austin FTW! Is there anyway it can be sent to me in Albuquerque since its sorta in the local area.

That was not as much fun as the North Korean Video that had Americans freezing eating snow and birds!

No shock here. Both the Washington post and New York Times both hire shitty “journalists” who just churn out shit instead of researching the subjects they write about.

Permanent Change of Station=PCS

That is a cool plate IMHO but what do I know I live in the southwest wasteland.

I’m pretty sure the Kill ratio for the Harriers was more because of the Mirages operating at the edge of their operational range and the superior training of Harrier pilots than some thrust vectoring supermaneuver.

Not sure on Subarus but I have done it one a few 5.0 Mustangs and its cake.

Its between a complete rebuild of a 5.0 Mustang T-5 Transmission or a rebuild on a 7MGTE out of a MKIII Supra. The T-5 was pretty easy minus the assembly of the blocker rings which were a PITA due to my big fat fingers. The 7M was straight forward but had a million sensors and connections to it to keep track of.

Ahhh all the car lots right outside of Fort Hood in Killeen Tx comes to mind LOL.

I love that video.

I just love the A-4 such a cool little bird. A Hot rod aircraft for sure.

DAMN YOU ALFA for not bringing the 159 to the US. I wanted a wagon so so bad.

You thing Gawker writers read history books? PSH that is for the Lames.

Awesome! You cannot miss mine its a ‘96 with massive hail damage LOL it looks like a green golf ball.

And Mercedes Benz for being shady with grey market imports.

Considering that the smallest of that range of trucks can handle 30 metric tons, that is A LOT of explosives. One hell of a SVBIED. Shame the defenders didn’t have any anti armor weapons that could stop it.
