They’ve done specials on it before, along with hard topics like home insecurity, death of a parent in the military, and disease. They’ve been making those specials to give kids in impossible situations something recognizable to grab onto…

The thing that infuriated me about this game’s DLC cycle was that they went out of the way to codify the concept of the Echo fighter, slot a few old characters like Dr. Mario into that role, and add a few new ones in the leadup, but then it just died there. They could be making a mint off slightly loweer cost reskins…

More than that Sakurai has been clear in the past that the character has to have come from a videogame in the first place.  I’d love Captain N too but he won’t happen just for that reason.
