They weren’t owned by royalty though, they belonged to Captain Antilles of the Tantive IV.  That’s canon in the film, not pulled from EU sources.

I don’t recall the OT making any specific point that Artoo and Threepio were brand new or top of the line.  Am I forgetting one?

Not for nothing but Anakin was known to be Obi-Wan’s apprentice in those movies, meaning it’s about as likely as that outfit is the “Jedi” outfit as it is that “These two guys dress the same because one of them was the other’s mentor.”

Hasn’t the show been fairly clear on the witches it depicts specifically not being Nightsisters? Weird to just sort of bulldoze over that.

There’s already a Jewish superhero in the MCU and no one’s mad about that one. So maybe it’s something else, yeah?

You’re not going to see Sabra suited up. They pivoted the character to “Shield Agent that is named Ruth and wears a suit.”  She’s basically just the new Sharon Carter.

William Sadler played President Ellis in Iron Man 3 and also Agents of Shield.  I think he was supposed to have turned up in the first Ant-Man but didn’t for some reason?  Also Miguel Ferrer played his first VP (presumably replaced after it turned out he was Hydra).

What, just because he looks like Orville Redenbacher trying to sneak into a college party?

That file photo really makes it look like she’s standing right downwind of Rudy Giuliani.

Pretty much at the same speed as movie theaters got worse, too. Like as they cut staff, the audiences just get more brazen about talking and having their phones out, the pre-show commercials keep increasing, and the seats fall further into disrepair. Plus the few attempts at theater innovation have all just been

He’ll live comfortably in his giant estate in Hawaii and be 100% protected from all consequences because the climate ones will just become a margin error blip in his AC budget and the rest won’t really affect him, that’s what.

Hell they buy them more! Especially if they performatively burned a bunch of that same brand last week because of woke!

Oh gee, a mega wealthy guy that lives in a giant mansion in Italy so he can safely be removed from the consequences of a disastrous US election for four years (or realistically given Project 2025, for the rest of his dumb smug life) has some thoughts about how he’d like that election to go? Dooooo go on.

Let’s no do the disservice to ourselves of confusing the angry and vocal minority of weirdo internet yellers with the majority of anything. My brother fell into that shit hard and as I recall kept yelling about how it was Wanda character assassination for like a year. Apparently that show that was her supervillain

And it made 955 million bucks, which is damn good.  So I’m just not sure why we’re calling it a bad blip, beyond what seems to be a vague editorial edict to consistently insinuate that the MCU is failing, so much so that its current failure is also retroactively applying to two years ago.

Man that’s a tiny horse.

Cool, she can make a movie and bankroll putting him in it then, and once it’s made she can try to sell it to theaters or streaming services or whatever.  That was always allowed.

I prefer to chalk up the second Doctor Strange to Raimi coming in and making a cool Dr. Strange movie that did really well actually.

She kinda looks like she’s dressed for an SNL sketch about Immortan Joe’s wives.

That’s a dress?  I just thought she was late to the interview and did a pratfall routine out of her shower on the way.
